Humanitarian Projects
“Awaken Humanity 2008″ - a chance to change the world with the gift of compassion and humanitarian service.
GOAL: $150,000 to bring faith, love and hope to millions around the world!
*AWAKEN AFRICA
Zambia and South Africa
Africa is in a state of unprecedented crisis. In response to the human and spiritual poverty that threatens to devastate an entire generation, Awaken Humanity will be focusing on village outreach, training local leadership as well as providing transportation for local leaders to travel to remote areas.
Breath of Heaven Children’s Village in Zambia cares for children orphaned by the impact of HIV/AIDS. Your donation helps support the shelter, health, education, and spiritual development each child deserves.
Informal Settlements in South Africa are concentrated areas with displaced inhabitants and orphans, the majority living with HIV/AIDS. Your contribution will enable community development, AIDS relief and care, along with leadership training for local leaders and church planters.
*AWAKEN L.A.
Los Angeles has its own battles with gang activity, drugs, alcohol and spiritual hunger. Awaken Humanity mobilizes service to the needy and disadvantaged living in Los Angeles. Your gifts help us meet strategic needs in our city.
*AWAKEN THE WORLD
When moments of crisis occur, we plan to be ready to move and to serve. In the past, we have immediately sent a team to Rwanda in 1994, to Southeast Asia after the Tsunami in 2004, and to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, to name a few. We can continue to be a part of rapidly responding to meeting the needs in tangible ways through our donations and efforts through Awaken Humanity.
*All donations are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to “Awaken” and indicate “Awaken Humanity” on the memo line and send to the Awaken offices at:
Awaken
1443 E. Washington Blvd. #659
Pasadena, CA 91104-2650

Akshay,
Hope you are doing well in India! Sorry for the late response, but I hope you have already discovered http://www.mosaic.org/internship which could give you more details about our internships at Mosaic. Keep up your great work!
I have a friend named Tina Cherian who lives in PA but originally from Kerala. Any relation?

Great to hear from you and I wanted to get back to you about our internship opportunities - we have a couple different options (1) a 2 year leadership internship w/Master’s Degree (mosaic.org/protégé), and (2) a 10 week summer internship (mosaic.org/internship, and (3) for internationals and for local LA college students we have done customized internships too. There is an application process you can discover on the web links. From there if you have questions, please let me know and I’d be happy to help.

Reading Soul Craving at the moment and decided to check out the website which Erwin mentions. Maybe we could develop something similar here in the UK.
Btw Akshay, are you any relation to Jacob Cherian who was at Hebron Christian School in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, S India? I and my wife worked there from 1998-2000

Wow! Any info on how I can get involved with outreach to Africa? God gave me a heart for Africa a year ago and been searching ever since! It is my desire to live a life of service to broken children everywhere but am particularly drawn to Africa. Any ideas?
Thanks Jen

I don’t know what all projects Mosaic has going on now in India, but this seems like a perfect opportunity for Mosaic to go ourselves or partner with an organization to express Christ’s love for all people. Taking care of widows and the destitute is mentioned over and over again in the Bible and here that call is going unanswered.

Thanks!

Hi,
I have been reading a lot about erwin and his teachings more specifically soul cravings. I was reading it during a short mission trip to the aboriginal community in darwin namely the bagot community. Plagued by teenage suicide, demonic spirits and alcohol and drug abuse it seems like the term ‘its hell down here’ is nothing short of a reality for these people.
I have been so moved by these people and the courage that they have that it has revealed another layer within my complex make up. I am moved by such compassion as Jesus was and i feel lie i want to do more but i dont know where to begin but on my knees.
Is there away we can start ad awaken movement down here in australia awaken australia similar to you guys? I dont know what part i would play in all this but i feel the lord guiding my path…
All i have is that i am a young salvadorian, with a degree in Software Engineering and i am available for the God i serve.
